The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office has hired three new Deputies to fill vacancies in the Corrections Division. Phil Steffen, Todd Cass, and Chris Limberg were sworn in on June 11th, 2020 by Sheriff Dwight Baird.
They will be attending the five-week Basic Corrections Training Academy which will begin on July 27th. Upon completion of the academy Deputy Steffen, Deputy Cass and Deputy Limberg will be paired with an experienced field training officer for a rigorous 11-week field training program.
Deputy Steffen studied Criminal Justice at Joliet Junior College. He worked as a volunteer firefighter in Garden Homes, IL before being hired by the Sheriff’s Office. Deputy Cass studied Criminal Justice at Morton College. He worked as an Auxiliary Police Officer in Stickney, IL, and a 911 dispatcher in Northlake, IL before being hired by the Sheriff’s Office. Deputy Limberg studied Business Administration at Southern Illinois University. He served 8 years in the United States Marine Corps before being hired by the Sheriff’s Office.
