The Kendall County Sheriff's Office Records staff is responsible for the management of police records, including the processing of reports, citations, warrants, expungements, Freedom of Information Act requests concerning police records, and the transmittal of information to police agencies, county/state/federal courts and corrections systems.

 
The Records Division is open for walk-up business from 8am – 4:30pm, Monday through Friday, on the second floor of the Kendall County Sheriff's Office, located at 1102 Cornell Lane, Yorkville IL, 60560.

Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) 

It is the "public policy of the State of Illinois that all persons are entitled to full and complete information regarding the affairs of government. " 5ILCS140/1

The State of Illinois has made this policy a law through the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, which further declares that all persons shall have access to all public records in order to promote transparency and accountability at all levels of government.

Copies of police reports may be requested in-person at the Sheriff's Office Monday-Friday, 8:00-4:30pm

How to Obtain a Copy of a Crash Report

Copies of crash reports may be requested in-person at the Sheriff's Office or through the above portal. All copies have a $5 fee.

You may also obtain a copy of your crash report through the following website for an additional fee: crashdocs.org
