The Kendall County Sheriff's Office Investigating a Two-Vehicle Crash Involving a Minooka Ambulance
UPDATE (May 27, 2025, 4:00 PM)
Following a thorough investigation of the incident, it was determined that the ambulance was traveling eastbound on Wildy Road with its emergency lights and siren activated. As it entered the intersection with Ridge Road, it collided with a vehicle traveling northbound on Ridge Road.
A 51-year-old female patient in the ambulance and the 31-year-old male driver of the other vehicle were transported to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Three additional occupants of the ambulance, a 52-year-old female, a 30-year-old male, and the ambulance driver, were transported with minor injuries.
The driver of the ambulance, 19-year-old Jacob Truhlar, was issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
The Sheriff's Office would like to remind the public that all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The Kendall County Sheriff's Office is currently investigating a two-vehicle crash involving a Minooka ambulance at Ridge Rd and Wildy Rd that occurred on Friday, May 23, 2025 at around 3 PM.
Because the ambulance is a municipal vehicle, the Sheriff’s Office has been requested to handle the investigation. At the time of the crash, the ambulance was transporting a patient.
Five individuals were transported from the scene—four from the ambulance and one from the other vehicle. None of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening at this time.
The roadway was closed for a short time but has since been reopened, and the investigation is still ongoing at this time.
