Home MenuKEDA Summer Internship
The KEDA Career Summer Internship Program connects current high school and college students to employers in Kendall County. Participants receive paid summer employment as well as career and skills development. Participating organizations gain involved interns for the summer who may be cultivated for future employment. The program is a genuine internship---there is a valuable skills and educational component to the program in addition to the work experience.
- Employers have agreed to provide relevant training/skills and paid employment.
- Participating interns choose which employer they would like to work for.
- Participants may connect with a career mentor to discuss careers in their fields.
- Participants are invited to attend a Career Success workshop series.
- Participants receive recognition for internship completion by the Kendall County Board.
Participating organizations and employers will be drawn from a variety of employment types. Participating employers craft an internship job description and determine which applicant they will hire for the summer and retain all rights of traditional employers, including the right of dismissal prior to the end of the internship period. The organizations will agree to employ interns and comply with all wage and hour laws. We ask employers to offer a minimum of five weeks duration for the internship, running between the months of May and September.
Thank you to all of our 2025 KEDA Internship Program participants. The application period for the Summer 2026 program will begin in early 2026.
